New Start Workshops
All newly admitted students must attend a New START workshop (Student Registration Advising Tutorial) before they can meet with an Academic Advisor and register. The goal of this workshop is:
- To introduce students to college resources and support services
- To explain basic academic policies and procedures
- To set academic expectations
- To explain next steps in the Registration process
- To introduce students to online resources such as Banner and SUNY Orange email account
- To better prepare students for their advising conversation with Advisors
To schedule an appointment to attend a New START, students must have:
- Been notified of their admission to the College
- Submitted immunization records
- Taken the Placement Test or been granted a waiver (PDF) (Plain Text).
- Students should schedule a New Start session at least 2 business days after testing so results will be available.
