Components

Cooperative Relationships is a planned program designed to facilitate the participation of Liberty Partnerships Program stakeholder in the development and implementation of the program's components and services. Resources available from the schools, community-based organizations, governmental agencies, churches, local businesses and industry and other organization are coordinated in order to provide supplemental and expanded services from participating partners interested in working collaboratively. Collaborative regional efforts with other LPP program institutions are also utilized.

Academic Support Services is a program or service that effects in-class learning and student achievement on local and statewide exams. Tutoring, homework assistance, and study skills workshops focus on improving grade point average, test scores, daily attendance, and graduation.

Counseling is a systemic, student-centered personal development and guidance program that provides grade and age appropriate services designed to help students identify the issues that place them at risk. It teaches students to develop strategies and support systems that will help them overcome personal and societal barriers, graduate from high school, and pursue post-secondary education and the workforce as healthy, self-directed young adults. This component promotes self-awareness, enhances student's internal focus of control in educational and personal decision processes, and helps students to develop and implement plans for their future.

Workforce Preparation is a strategic grade-level, age appropriate program that develops student knowledge of the world of work, teaches universal foundation skills (SCANS), and prepares students to make decisions about future career paths.

Parent Involvement is a multi-dimensional program that facilitates parental involvement in the educational and decision-making processes of their children. We aim to enhance parenting/interpersonal techniques; involve parents in the decision-making processes; and support parental involvement in local school and district decision processes.
