nEW DATABASE LINKS
The library's database links became less complicated. Now just click the Connect link to access the database of your choice at home or on campus. The system will detect if you are off campus and need to go through the log in page before accessing the database. More details about accessing the databases are at the library's Remote Database Access page.
March 2011:
Proquest's new interface
Proquest produces of some of the most popular databases at SUNY Orange, including Criminal Justice Periodicals, Psychology Journals, Health Management, ABI/Inform Business publications and many others. Searching is as easy as usual with a single text box. The new features are seen in the results listing. More useful tools allow users to easily select time ranges, publication types and easy limits for full text and peer review. Suggested searches and subjects appears above the results list for quick refining of results to the topics you want to dig deeper into.
As before when the article is viewed familiar old tools remain for emailing articles, sharing and citing them. Social media buttons also allow you to share articles through your social media accounts. Users should be aware that the "search for article" button always appears in the article even if the full text of the article is available. This link should be ignored and is the result of some design oversight. Another glitch makes it appear as if your "session has expired" if you get this message just click back button and try clicking to the page again.
As with all of SUNY Orange's databases you can access all Proquest's databases on campus or off.
