The students are now certified for two years in the administration of Naloxone, the life-saving opiate overdose antidote. The class was offered as part of a training partnership between the College’s Wellness Center and Catholic Charities. The attendees received guidance on giving the drug, tips on recognizing the signs of a potential overdose, and the current trends related to opioid addiction and overdose deaths. They also were given a two-dose nasal Naloxone kit.

Catholic Charities will be offering a similar class, open to all students and employees of the College, on Sept. 21.
