Jazz Ensemble Concert

The SUNY Orange Jazz Ensemble promises to entertain audience members with a program of jazz classics and a few contemporary numbers when it takes to the Orange Hall Theatre stage for its annual spring concert at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 28.

The evening program includes: “Freddie Freeloader” by Miles Davis; “Well You Needn’t (It’s Over Now)” and “In Walked Bud” by Thelonious Monk; “The Turnaround” by Hank Mobley; “Blue Bossa” by Kenny Dorham; “Exactly Like You” by Jimmy MacHugh and Dorothy Fields; “Michelle” by John Lennon/Paul McCartney; “Slow Like Honey” by Fiona Apple; “Doxy” by Sonny Rollins; and “Road Song” by Wes Montgomery.

The Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Dave Miele. Performers will include James Aaron (guitar), Alyssa Anastasio (saxophone), Kieran Ashe (saxophone), Vaughn Barnett (percussion), Ashley Bassett (vocals), Vernell Bradley Jr. (saxophone/percussion/vocals), Matthew Gould (guitar), Kalah Hill (vocals), Dylan Johnson (guitar), Joseph Johnson (piano), Shannon Sansone (piano), Peter Stika (guitar), Reginald Toussaint (piano) and Jeremy Truitt (percussion).

Admission is free. For more information, contact the Arts and Communication Department at (845) 341-4787. Orange Hall Theatre is located in Orange Hall, at the intersection of Wawayanda and Grandview avenues in Middletown. The theatre is universally accessible.
