Domestic Violence Awareness Month Film Screening TODAY (Oct. 18)

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. in Bio-Tech Room 352, the Department of Criminal Justice will host a film showing and discussion regarding domestic violence.

In 2008, Barbara Sheehan shot her husband 11 times, killing him. From the onset Mrs. Sheehan claimed that she had been the victim of physical and emotional abuse for decades at the hands of her husband, Raymond, a New York City Police sergeant.

Later, a court found Barbara Sheehan NOT guilty of murder, but convicted of her of gun possession.

In 2012,  she sat down with Anderson Cooper and gave this riveting interview.
