"Okinawa: Island of Battles" Rescheduled for TODAY

The Global Initiative lecture entitled "Okinawa: Island of Battles", originally scheduled for Feb. 9 but then canceled due to inclement weather, has been rescheduled for 11 a.m. TODAY (Thursday, Feb. 16) in the Gilman Center for International Education.

Dr. Heidi Weber will explore the complex history of the Japanese island of Okinawa, before, during and after WW II. Once  an independent island nation, Okinawa became a possession of Japan and a bloody battlefield in WW II, only to then become the home of  massive USAF base.

The event is free and open to the public.

Event date, time and location.
