Narcan Training Available on April 11

You are invited to attend a FREE Narcan training on Tuesday April 11 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Gilman Center.

Drug overdoses are the leading cause of accidental death in the United States, causing more deaths than motor vehicle accidents.

Abuse and death from opiates such as Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Vicodin, Percocet and Heroin are rising at an alarming rate, with Orange County having one of the highest rates in NYS of overdose deaths.

You will learn what you can do in a case of a suspected overdose and how to administer the life saving overdose reversal agent, Narcan, the antidote to an opiate overdose.

This is a free training on the administration and use of Narcan. A Narcan kit will be provided to you which contains two life saving doses of Narcan.

Individuals who complete the training will be able to:

Recognize the signs and symptoms of an opiate overdose

Understand proper administration of Nalaxone / Narcan
