Narcan Training Session Offered on Sept. 21

SUNY Orange students and employees are invited to attend a FREE Narcan training session on Thursday Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to Noon in the Gilman Center for International Education on the Middletown campus.

Overdoses are the leading cause of accidental death in the United States causing more deaths than motor vehicle accidents.

Abuse and death from opiates such as Oxycontin, Hydrocodone, Vicodin, Percocette and Heroin are rising at an alarming rate with Orange County having one of the highest rates ofr overdoes deaths in New York State.

You will learn what you can do in case of a suspected overdose and how to administer the live-saving overdose reversal agent, Narcan, the antidote to an opiate overdose.

This is a free training on the administration and use of Narcan. A Narcan kit will provided to you which contains two life saving doses of Narcan,

Class size is limited to 20 participants. Please call the Wellness Center at 341-4870 to pre-register.
