SUNY Orange is now accepting applications for Fall 2012 childcare programs at its new state-of-the-art Lab School facilities on the Middletown and Newburgh campuses. With a newly constructed Morrison Lab School in Middletown and a beautiful new space in the renovated Tower Building in Newburgh, SUNY Orange has expanded its Middletown childcare services while at the same time returning childcare to its Newburgh campus.
The Lab Schools offer licensed daycare, certified by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, for children ranging in age from infants (2 months) through pre-school (age 5). Kinderollege services are available on a priority basis to children of students, faculty and staff of the College. As space permits, community members may also take advantage of Lab School programming. Tuition subsidies are available for children of SUNY Orange students and flexible scheduling options are available for all families.
The Lab Schools will host Open House events at both the Middletown and Newburgh locations on Tuesday, Aug. 21. The Open House at the Morrison Lab School in Middletown will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. while the Newburgh Tower Building site’s Open House will run from 2 to 7 p.m. Staff will be on hand at both locations to offer tours of the building and answer questions on proramming and services.
Programming is based upon an “educational/exploratory play” philosophy that offers a combination of child-centered and teacher-directed activities in an environment that is safe, stimulating, engaging and nurturing. Children in SUNY Orange Lab School programs will have fun while learning about and exploring the world around them.
The Lab Schools will open on Aug. 27 to coincide with the College’s first day of Fall semester classes. The sites are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., but are closed on those days that SUNY Orange is closed (Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving break, etc. in the Fall). Children will receive breakfast, lunch, and morning and afternoon snacks at no additional charge.
