Spring Orchestra Concert is May 5

The SUNY Orange Community Orchestra is proud to present a concert featuring world-renowned double bass soloist, Volkan Orhon. The performance will be at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 5, at Middletown’s historic Paramount Theatre.

Orhon will perform music by Koussevitsky and Bottesini.

Conductor Richard Simons says, “If you don’t know about the double bass as a solo instrument, then this will be a perfect opportunity to learn. Mr. Orhon is a fantastic and exciting musician. I can promise you that you will thoroughly enjoy his performance.  I can also promise you that you will be very sorry if you miss it.”

The program includes the Roman Carnival Overture, by Hector Berlioz, and, in recognition of our concert date--Cinco de Mayo--La Fiesta Mexicana, by H. Owen Reed.

The Paramount Theatre, located at 17 South Street in Middletown, is universally accessible.  Tickets are available at the Paramount Theatre Box Office:

$10.00 - General Admission
$5.00 - Seniors (60+) and all other students with ID
FREE - Active Military and SUNY Orange students with ID, and children under 12
